Smile an introduction and follow-up

Hi all,

Earlier today I did some googling about job interview procedures, specifically when the interviewee is trying to subtly work a job interview into an existing work schedule... and I came upon this: http://cellar.org/showthread.php?t=17762

As I read the responses, my thoughts were along the lines of, "There seems to be no definitive answer to this question, but this is a well-spoken, diverse group of people! What's cellar.org?" ...so I explored a bit and spent the balance of the afternoon reading through posts. Seems like a really nice online community, so I thought I'd join and try to fit in.

So, Flint... what did you end up doing about your situation? Did you get the job in question?

Nice to meet you all....
Ryan

Nice to meet you, Ryan!

Incidentally, it took 5 posts and one Google search to come across what I am pretty sure is your personal MySpace page... perhaps you may wish to choose a username that is less personally identifying, given that you're trying to keep the job interview thing on the hush-hush?

Now that's a Cellar welcome!

Thud85, I checked in our agency database, and I can't say too much, but that job you're in now, well, good luck with landing the new one. Not you, the whole thing. You don't know any of this, though, ok?

Welcome!

Flint did get the job and has been there nearly 2 years now.

As I recall he had to put in his 2 week notice because the new facility needed him ASAP. He was honest with his employers and told them what he needed from them if he was to decline the offer... as they were unable to meet those needs they worked with him to pull someone from inside his department who had some experience in his position in the past and Flint spent the next two weeks getting him up to speed and making sure that he closed out everything he could and weher he couldn't it was easy to identify where he had left off and what the next steps would be. He managed to leave on good terms and still communicates with his former co-workers and employers from time to time.

Yeah, that's right, me and Flint both found new employment at around the same time. It is coming up on two years. WOW!

My old job hired me as a consultant after I left (cleared by the powers here, so as not to risk conflict of interest) until I got really sick of it. If they had treated me so well when I was "really" there I would still be there. D'oh!

I'm confused. Is this other person thud85?

Anyway, thanks for the summary, Pooka.
