Yellowfin tuna recipes needed.

So I bought 2 3/4 inch yellowfin tuna steaks last night. I really have no idea why, because I have no fucking clue what I'm gonna do with em. Any suggestions?

yeah,

and forget about the rest of the replies that may follow......look no further.......this is the one.

get a pile of pistachios, and chop them up into granola sized bits. get some raspberry viniagrette dressing and pour it lightly on top of the tuna. cover the tuna with a good 1/4 inch of the pistachios. broil. serve with asparagus fried in peanut oil and smashed unskinned potatoes. ring the plate with more of the rasberry dressing.

wear a diaper, cuz you'll wet your pants it's so good.

you can substitute the pistachios with cashews or almonds, but pist. are better with the tuna

if that doesnt sound good, just cake the steak with 1/4" of horseradish and broil.....not as good, but still yummy.

Huh? I'm with you on the rest of this, but WTF? Deep fried raw asparagus? Or do you mean steam the asparagus and then saute lightly in oil? I've never heard of asparagus cooked in oil before. How?

jinx has done both....
to deep fry:

dip in egg wash.
roll in cornmeal
deep fry.
yum

sautee:

in a wok, heat your peanut oil, sautee. yum. crispy.

edit:

for years i hated asparagus. my mom always steamed it and it was mushy and gross. jinx has shown me the light. don't overcook it. it should be crisp and bright green.

makes your pee stink, though.....in like 2 minutes

It's not corn meal - it's a beer batter and then a flour/cracker/spices mix for the deep frying.

And the pistacio crust is usually for salmon. I don't think I ever did that with tuna.

Sounds good. I'll have to try it. I love asaragus, but hated it as a kid. Smae reasons. My mom cooked it (and all vegetables) till mushy.

[trivia] About the stinky pee. Apparently it makes everyone's pee stink, but some people can't smell the difference. Something about their noses not being able to smell the particular compound that causes the odor. Wish I remembered the entire story. I bet Google knows. I can smell it. [/trivia]
