The Thai military performing to 'The Final Countdown' (and, apparently, 'It's A Small World') by the Swedish band Europe. Looks to me like they would have chosen a tune by Asia.

Turkish ferry Ostend Spirit made a dramatic final docking by coming into land at speed, ready to be taken apart after 24 years of service.

It's better full screen.

Sorry, couldn't embed a LiveLeak video so had to post the link.

Worth a look, though.

Carruthers, embedding a LiveLeak video works just like doing a YouTube video. Hit the LiveLeak button up next to the YouTube button and then paste the video identifier between the brackets. It's usually the number/letter code after the '=' sign, in this case you'd paste 55d_1384816686 between the LiveLeak brackets.

I almost put this in the 'Nightmare Fuel' thread, but it's too much fun.

He can really shake his booty.

I am something of a gentle soul, but I'd pay good money for an afternoon driving this automotive mega destruction machine.

BTW Watch the engine blocks go in just after the 5.00 mark.

That's a strange thing to see. Grinds them up nicely.

I can't help but to think of all the effort required to make a car. Then it's completely broken down in seconds. It's a good thing to recycle for something else that will take months or years to engineer, design, manufacture, source, assemble and distribute.

I'm thinking of all the perfectly good used components still in those cars that would be appreciated by the people who could use them, if only you could connect them to the right people.

One man's treasure is another man's junk.

After this video finished playing, there was a thumbnail of a cute VW bug getting shredded. They did it as a gag, where somebody drove the VW up to a reserved parking lot and then a forklift picked it up and dropped it in the shredder. Shame to shred a car that still works. I'm sure there are lots of needy people who would love a running car as easy to tinker with as a VW bug.
