7/2: Mouse balls

1 - 2 - 3 - Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. It turns out that Wimbledon uses 36,000 tennis balls during their tourney. And it turns out that British harvest mice are facing dwindling numbers due to certain farming practices. So, the solution is to take those balls, cut a hole in them, attach them to poles, and then the mice can make homes in them, with a front door too small for predators. And here you thought the title of this thread was gonna lead you to something else. |

How many homeless mice are there?
Perhaps 36,000 golf balls littering the fields of British farms is only scratcing the surface of all the homeless field mice. I wonder how long these balls will last against the elements. Do they place an additional 36,000 balls out in the fields again next year? What happens if you are a field mouse and your family outgrows your current tennis ball? Can you get a couple of these modified and have adjoining quarters? It makes me wonder...
