*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
If I am to give you a gift this year, this is it:
The New England Patriots Can't win the superbowl this year.
Please understand that this game is run by money.
The money this year is on the Patriots.
Media wise.
Opinion wise.
and Display.
These are the things that trigger the masses to wager.
The money here will be collected, condemning any chance of the Patriots winning the superbowl this year.
The teams structure condemns its nearby future (2009 2009 2010).
Salary cap is now at its limits for next year.
Time to restart. Bebuild.
I look forward to seeing the work on this team between now and 2011.
Miami also lives in its final year before the old are too old, and the young are not ready.
This league belongs to the New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills for the next 3 years. I think Buffalo has grasped this, and wisely will give up this year for a top 3 draft.
If I was Buffalo, I seriously would look at getting the #1 draft pick to pick up that superstar from the NCAAF for my teams future.
If that happens, Buffalo would own the AFC East for the next decade.

Pittsburgh Steelers____3____0
Baltimore Ravens_____2____1
Cleveland Browns_____1____2
Cincinnati Bengals_____1____2

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Notice in my long term bets, I have avoided this division.
I've only chosen the Bengals for AFC Champions as The Patriots are out(explained above) and The Colts and Chargers rely on key units who may or may not last the season.
The real teams save their best for the playoffs.
The Pitchberg Steelers are impressive no doubt.
Defence and Offence.
The offence is what suprises as the defence we knew about.
Still far from what they were 4 years ago(elite).
The Browns are starting to click, HOWEVER!!!
Quinn is great but there is a Superstar in the NCAAF, it must be tempting, I mean think of how amazing this division will be if Clevland decides to go #1 in the draft.
I must say that there will be more than 1 teams competing for this draft pick which will result in more losses for above average teams.
2-14 should get it, I wonder who it will be?
The Baltimore Ravens remain a powerhouse with their strategic draft picks($).
Building a defence like this is amazing.
Offence would make them unbeatable.
......but, thats not happening yet.

Indianapolis Colts_____3____0
Tennessee Titans_____2____1
Houston Texans______2____1
Jacksonville Jaguars___2____1

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
The Indianapolis Colts can repeat.
The true favorites of the AFC, holding the best Quarterback in history:Peyton Manning. The franchise is also managing itself superbly and knows its priorities and follows plan perfectly(predictably).
The Titans are also playoff bound as Vince Young grows to very respectable levels in what will be an amazing career in the NFL, So its the Colts and the Titans for the next few years.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have a pretty good defence, but again, the offence is not the kind that can preform at a playoff level.
The Texans obviously improved.
Green at Running back and A.Johnson as Wide reciever makes this team entertaining to watch, its gun-ho mentality of last year is starting to work wonders with the proper tools.
The defence is not quite there yet.

Broncos Broncos_____2____1
Kansas City Chiefs____1____2
San Diego Chargers___1____2
Oakland Raiders______1____2

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
I don't think there's any doubt in anyones mind regarding this division.
The San Diego Chargers are EASILY gonna win this division.
Again, the decisions of this franchise have been remarkable, and deserve respect. If it wasn't for the Colts, this team would be by far the #1 favorites to win the AFC Championship.
The Broncos, the Raiders and the Chiefs should be happy with a .500 record again
ALTHOUGH, that #1 draft pick next year is quite tempting.
I would not be suprised if a team in this division went 3-13 in attempt to pick him up.

Dallas Cowboys _____3____0
Washington Redskins__2____1
New York Giants______1____2
Philadelphia Eagles____1____2

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
The Eagles and the Redskins are the 2 true contenders for the superbowl this year from the NFC.
The Dallas Cowboys still have to play 2 games against the Philadelphia Eagles, 2 games against the Washington Redskins for this division.
Mcnnab and Portis.
This Redskins defence does look better than the Eagles so far.
The Eagles offence is what makes them superbowl contenders.
NYG:My harsh words against E.Manning last year were just.
They simply do not remain so this year as he has clearly improved.
Without Jacobs, this team remains good, however most of you still haven't quite understood how good this running back actually is.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
North______________W____L
Green Bay Packers___3____0
Detroit Lions________2____1
Chicago Bears_______1____2
Minnesota Vikings_____1____2

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

The Bears next 3 games are against the Lions the Packers and the Vikings.
How much you wanna bet that they'll win all 3?
Chicago remains the 3rd favorites to make it to the superbowl from the NFC
Look at them Packers eh?
Honestly though, do you really think Brett can last the year?
Please lets not forget the mans age. (Much respect)
Impressive offence from the Lions, but the defence just isn't there.
Adrian Peterson is quite impressive with his 146,6 yards per game running and recieving!
The Vikings have improved a little against the pass, but its still not good enough to be a serious contender yet, however, the future looks bright!
If I owned the Bears???????
I would lose the next 13 games of the season and win 7 of the next 10 superbowls
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
South_______________W____L
Carolina Panthers______2____1
Tampa Bay Buccaneers__2____1
Atlanta Falcons________0____3
New Orleans Saints_____0____3

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
A one horse race this division as predicted.
Carolina's defence remains elite, their offence although with a remarkable tool, is one dimensional when it counts.
No disrespect to the Bucs, Kiffin has my highest respect.
The offence also preforming from a miserable year to a respectable level. Thank Garcia's passing through the Eagles formation last year!
So yeah, the Bucs will be 2nd!
Atlanta will have a very exciting decade if they manage to get the #1 draft pick. Lose lose lose, who the F was Vick they'll say, look at this guy(I'm sure you all know who i'm talking about....you watch NCAAF, don't you?)
I don't have to keep repeating myself about the New Orlean Saints do I?
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
West_______________W____L
San Francisco 49ers___2____1
Seattle Seahawks_____2____1
Arizona Cardinals______1____2
St. Louis Rams________0____3

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
This division reminds me of the National League West in Baseball
SF Giants, Colorado Rockies, San Diego Padres, LA Dodgers and the Arizona Cardinals. It doesn't really matter who wins the division, they are so inferior to the rest of the teams that will be in the playoffs, that its without hopes.
Gore is amazing, but the holes remain in SF.
Great coaching for the Seahawks, but they lack the tools.
The Cardinals are a great looking team from a lot of angles, but coaching has been the main issue over the past few years.
The Rams are 0-3, suprising most, but then again....could they also be looking at the upcoming draft?

NCAAF #1 draft pick: Darren McFadden D.O.B: August 27, 1987
His speed, power, catch, throw are superb.
He is a super-athlete!
Will bring any team in the NFL to another level.
There will be huge competition for him in the draft, that translates in teams loosing multiple games in order to obtain him.
So if you're a fan of a team thats 0-3, hope to go 0-5 and 0-6 etc etc.
This is the guy you want on your team.
This is sacrifice year.

NFL Pointspread-Week:4

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Oakland Raiders @ Miami Dolphins(-3.5)
When motives are in question.....Avoid
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Houston Texans(-3.0) @ Atlanta Falcons
Again, Atlanta seems a contender for Darren McFadden.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Baltimore Ravens(-4.5) @ Clevland Browns
You all have seen why its not a good idea to underestimate these Browns.
The Spread fixers obviously respect them.
I wouldn't be betting against them.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Chicago Bears(-3.5) @ Detroit Lions
Could the Bears actually be going after Darren?
If they aren't, this is a gimme...

Bet on the Bears
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Green Bay Packers(-2,5) @ Minnesota Vikings
Minnesota is a better team, at home, and underdogs.
Adrian will get his 100 yards and the Vikings should win.

Bet on the Vikings
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
St.Louis Rams @ Dallas Cowboys(-13.5)
Steven Jackson is out, otherwise I'd be taking the Rams.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
New York Jets(-4.5) @ Buffalo Bills
With Lynch, you'd think the Bills aren't after the man, but you never know.
Straight up, this one is too close for comfort.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Tampa Bay Bucs @ Carolina Panthers(-2.5)
Double digit win for the superior Panthers in this one, easy call.

Bet on the Panthers
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Seattle Seahawks(-2.5) @ San Fransisco 49ers
What is it about the Seahawks that you saw this year that you like?
The division belongs to the 49ers, this game is putting a foot down.
Add the security blanket of the 2.5 points, and you've got a good bet.

Bet on the 49ers
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Pitchberg Steelers(-6.5) @ Arizona Cardinals
Please tell me you're not actually looking at the steelers like they're a team that can actualy win something this year.
Arizona has looked pretty good this year, but the coaching just keeps getting worse. WTF are they doing over there in Arizona?
Make up your friggin minds who's gonna be playing.
This isn't high school, get some staff to accompany this high end offence.
The division is yours for the taking!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Kansas City Chiefs @ San Diego Chargers(-12.5)
The spread looks about right here..a win is a win.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Denver Broncos @ Indianapolis Colts(-10.5)
Wayne is gonna have a career day, and A.Gonzales will shine with Harrison covered by Champ. You can also expect that loooong pass down the middle for Addai like they practiced in the pre-season successfully. Easy win for the Colts, but the spread again is the obstacle here.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Philadelphia Eagles(2.5) @ New York Giants
Week 1, i told you all not bet on the Eagles as offences like this need time to gel.
Week 2, i told you that the best bet of the week was washington over Phillie in Phillie.
Week 3, I gave you the Eagles, and they hold this years record for most points scored.
i suppose thats 100% on my team this year.
I'll keep it up, easy win for the Eagles here, 2.5 points is nothing.

Bet on the Eagles!!!!!!!!!!!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
New England Patriots(-7.5) @ Cincinnati Bengals
What would have been an easy pick here is now dubious as R.Johnson looks to be out this week for the Bengals.
dime and quarter will the patriots play making it tough for this superior offence to shine.

Mr.Lumberjim, I haven't lost anything.

The world series is looking very promising for my Angles, Indians and Cubs.
The 2008 superbowl?
Dude, its week 4.
Do you really think the Lions or the Packers are gonna finish in a playoff position? If you do, you've got no idea about the game.
Last year they had you all going about the Panthers, the Cowboys and the Saints and ya'll ate it up with a spoon.
This year they've really got you all hyped up about the Cowboys and the Patriots, but neither stand a chance at the superbowl.
Its all pre-determined.
My long term predictions have all been solid, and thats not going to be changing in this NFL season.
However, McFadden may deter top notch teams from winning any matches from here on out.
A player of his calibure has not been seen.....Ever
A team like Miami may end up trading off that 1st pick overall to a 3rd-5th pick and a player as they set out for a lineman(Brown is too good to get another RB)

They're playing a new game.
My picks remain the same.
The one and only team I underestimated was the Bucs.
LumberJim...Get back to me after the Redskins beat the Cowboys in both of their match-ups this year.

dude. you got ALL your NFL picks wrong. 0-5 this week. that's all I was saying. sorry. I didnt mean to insult you. i still appreciate your insights and the effort you put in to post the picks. I'm just a heckler. don't mind me.

[trash talking] oh, and what were you saying about how good donovan mcsackedtwelvetimesinonegame is[/tt]

The Giants are specialists at sacks, and they are a good team.
Never have I said otherwise.
The Eagles have a soloution for Pass-rush:B.Westbrook.
If they rush Donovan, he just has to toss it over to Brian.
Brian missed the game which resulted in the mcsackedtwelvetimesinonegame.

The truth is, I've already lost 25% of the money I won last year in the NFL.
But I'm not disapointed at all, as my long term superbowl bets have yet to be placed. And thats a blessing, cause the prices i've got right now in this false reality dispay of the standings will lead me to a true fortune.

If my memory serves me correctly, when I first arrived at the Cellar, you were amongst the first to introduce yourself to me, hiding nothing of your personality.
Blessed Be

At one point in this thread in last years NFL season I mention how I was in dialogue with 2 different international companies.
Later, I again mention the results of one of those dialogues.
Again and then again, I mention my new found employers.
If you look close enough, you will find that this season, I am as accurate as I was last year.
Only, I'm working against you instead of for you.
Did you honestly believe one could change so drastically over one season?

I'm not talking about you. You don't set the points spread. With the points spread that far off, doesn't that show most people were thinking (betting) way wrong?

Thats the point!
Funny thing is, it'll be even worse for the rest of the season.
You'll see more pre-determined results this year than any other.

At the end of the season, take a look at the standings and compare them to the standings in week 4 to see how far off reality presented itself.

Whip is MIA (probably because he's lost on so many picks lol) so I'm throwing my hat into the ring. (Can't be any worse than Whip j/k)

NFLSTRADAMUS 5 LOCKS OF THE WEEK

Detroit @ Washington -4

The Lions are a pass first offense and I think the Redskins secondary will be prepared. The Redskins should be able to run the ball on the Lions easily. I also think it will be a close one, maybe a field goal game which means the Lions should be able to cover the spread.

Bet: Lions

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Baltimore -4 @ San Francisco

Trent Dilfer is going to have to pull off a miracle here to win which I doubt will happen. The 49ers will probably try to run Frank Gore as much as possible but he's going to have some trouble against this top 10 defense.

Bet: Baltimore

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Chicago @ Greenbay -5

The Bears are too banged up right now and we need a QB and a RB to show up which I doubt will happen. Favre + Lambeau + Prime Time= Win.

Bet: Green Bay

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Carolina @ New Orleans -3

I'm hoping the Saints learned a few things from their first 3 games during their bye week. I expect them to be fined tuned going up against David Carr and the Kittens.

Bet: New Orleans

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Arizona -4 @ St. Louis

The Rams are way way too banged up and I doubt Gus Frerotte is going to come in and turn things around. Easy pick here.

Bet: Arizona
