12/3/2003: Slavery protest in India

Interesting protest dep't: these are Indian activists, marking the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery in New Delhi.

And some activists are children: formerly bonded workers, and rescued from lives of slavery by welfare organizations.

Damn.

A hundred and forty-odd years from now, their descendants will be demanding reparations from us.

I'm pretty sure it's our fault.

With luck the reparations will come from the coffers of the corporations responsible, not the taxpayer...

Good one! Corporations taking responsibility while the government is controlled by Republicans.

That's funny!

Hey kids, I know you used to be slaves, you want to be bound and gagged just for old times sake? It'll be a hoot.

How are they supposed to answer all those Sprint tech support lines with their hands and legs bound up like that?

I hope those kids protested after their 16 hour work day. Otherwise the cost might go up on my Nike's.
