Yes. Chemo is designed to attack rapidly growing cells. Among the good rapidly growing cells is skin, hair, lining of the gut.

Because no one ever answered your question... the correct choice is "were" in all cases.

Wish and if are always followed by "were." There are a few others that qualify for the subjunctive case, but those are the biggies.

Hope you're feeling better very soon, Bri. If it stings that means it's working, that's what my mom always said...

I thought UT's hair joke was well played......

Hey....I think you're hot. You are like one of those divas that don't even need hair to look awesome.....Sorry you feel terrible. Would you like a photo of my butt? It's funny. It's like ageing cottage cheese in the fridge. But for some reason you can't quit looking at it...like a train-wreck. Ok I won't do that to ya. Hopefully they are giving you enough drugs so that you might forget the mental image of my arse. Anal Amnesia......Or maybe enough drugs that you cannot read this and get the mental image in the first place.
But, hopefully you won't forget that you are a cellarite....and log on...and keep us in the loop.

Hey when you get to feeling better you can punch me or make me dress funny at work or something. I'll give you a free-bri.
No really- you can pm me and I'll make a fool of myself and document it...Then you can laugh at me. Just make sure it doesn't involve my death or something.

Chemo will force you to fast all by itself. No worries there.

But you should try your best to eat regularly, of course...and as healthily as you can.

Stay strong in your mind, Bri, even though your body feels blah right now. The chemo's only temporary, and it's doing good things for you!

A story to make you smile:

Years ago, when my aunt (the single funniest woman in the world) finished her chemo, my mother took her shopping downtown. They were crossing the street in the middle of downtown Columbus, and being the beautiful women they are, a man waiting at the light honked and waved. My Aunt Norma turned to him, threw her arms up (picture the YMCA dance), and pulled off her wig.

Mom still swears she laughed so hard she peed a little.

~~~~~~~~~
Best wishes for a swift recovery, Bri. Sending good vibes your way.
I would also like to add that I love it when Clod talks like this. It makes me feel like I'm in on a scandalous secret.
Well welcome, and what are you trying to get the hang of?
I guess this thread isn't terribly self-expanatory -Bri is fighting breast cancer and currently undergoing chemotherapy. Generally, she's a rambunctuous soul, and a long-term-dwellar, so the joshing isn't as hearless as it may seem and the concern is very genuine.
