Why oh why?

Why is it that every single person (well almost) who is a member here has at least 9,000 posts and I have less than 200? I have tried to follow the board and be a thoughtful (or thoughtless) poster as the case may be, yet I despair of ever reaching the lofty heights of verbiage of the rest of you. Why are there so many people with zillions of posts and so few like me?

Hang in there. I feel like I've been around for a bit, but my post-count is... low. You're on track to meet my target.

post count is not a good way to judge a person.

I am a great example of the above post - as is this particular post.

Yeah the one problem with post count being visible is that everybody thinks it's so very important, and some participate in the nothingland threads just to bump their count which I sometimes think is regrettable. Many small posts are not as valuable to us as a handful of really good ones.

Who is "us"?
I like the post whore thread, I am one for idle chit-chat, I like high quality posts, and very meaningful posts. Sometimes I even like the bullshit threads that should not even exist. I like all of it.

I think the post count thing was always a joke around here. Mebbe I'm wrong. That's the way I've treated it, as a bit of a joke. I remember that Zen and I competed to get to a thousand for awhile, and that was also a joke....Maybe you are the only person taking post count srsly?

This is a good question. Who takes post count that seriously?

Yes, you are a thoughtful poster Sam, mmmkay?

Well I like your posts just fine. Screw them if they can't take a joke. Every post can't be profound...Even if it looks profound and beautiful, chances are it's 50 percent bullshit.

This thread is not an example of that.

I never look at post counts - well sometimes I am amazed that people have been here for years and still have single digit posts.

Very funny Cic & S123
