VW commercial: Jetta WR6

Was that it? I just saw it on Tech TV and it blew me away. The music sucked me in and I couldn't stop watching.

It had a guy, in a Jetta, speeding to a church. I'm not gonna give any away... has anyone else seen that? I was on the phone with Jenni and after it came on, I couldn't pay attention to her at all. It was amazing.

Well, I can't find it on their site. Anyone have a link to it?

Hey, first of all, it's the VR6. I found it. It's called "Wedding", and I'll go ahead and edit out the junk that's in the MPEG I got and then put it online. Man it rules.

The gal in that commercial is very attractive...she has a painting-like quality about her.

I never understood it. Is the guy best man? Did he go to the wrong wedding?

Maybe he was the groom, but his Jetta was so damned slow that his wife got tired of waiting on him and just married the best man?

My interpretation is as follows:

The guy wants to stop the wedding. Apparently, he is not liked by the father, so the woman has picked someone "more suitable." (Notice how the father keeps nervously looking around, as if he's dreading that the guy will show up.) And yet, the driver loves the woman so much, he will go so far as to crash her wedding.

I actually thought about that commercial for a while...

I've been thinking of buying a Jetta for over 2 years now, though they are out of my price range.

But I have lots of time to think about silly things like this. You, on the other hand, have to start childproofing that apartment.

My interpretation is the same as T-$'s.

It does make me want a Jetta.

I'm not gonna even explain how it hit me. It was really fuckin' weird. But it affected me for those 30 seconds. It's one of the best films I've ever seen.

Yep. I've always likened it to a Graduate-esque wedding. I think he's there to object. She is hot, though.

Mebbe there's just some subliminal thing that's targeted only to guys.

I watched that clip a bunch of times.

I just don't get it.

And it does not, in any way, compel me to want a Jetta.

No no no, he's the grooms inconsiderate brother/ best man just showing up at an inopportune moment. He did bag the bride to be once though, which gives her false hope.

An ex-GF called me up 2 weeks before her wedding to invite me.

"I'm getting married in two weeks. It would make my wedding complete to see you there in the audience. And... I want you to object."

I declined.

Did she explain why she wanted you to do that? Was it because she didn't want to get married to her current husband? Or was is because she's an egomaniac who wants to have two men fighting over her on her wedding day? Or was she just being funny?
