My last 3-4 pair of glasses have all been in the $19-$35 range from eyebuydirect. I once tried a pair of progressives from them, and didn't like them. They may have fucked up the installation of the lenses so they didn't line up correctly with one another. Whatever it was, I hated them. So now I just wear bifocals because they can't fuck that up with the obvious divider line on each lens. Anyway, I'm happy with them and won't go back to paying hundreds in a brick and mortar store. But if you want to do that, I'll still like you.

I hated the progressives because if I was working on something more than a foot wide I had to keep swiveling my head from side to side.

Yeah, my arms are getting shorter as I get older, too, I can't get the book far enough away to read it sometimes. I have two pair of cheapie reading glasses. One pair is stronger, for really close work.

I bought one of those high powered magnification visors, just, you know, for doing really delicate stuff. And now find myself grabbing them more and more often. It's amazing to be able to see stuff up close in beautiful detail.

I used to have one of those 6" round magnifying glass surrounded by a round fluorescent lamp on a double arm like a desk lamp, clamped to my desk. For some reason when I didn't need it for what I used it for, I put it away somewhere. Probably should dig it out as there's many more things it would be handy for now.

I wear glasses.

OK...I own glasses. Two pair, even.

Here's a picture of me not wearing any on Tuesday after feeling the Mo Primary Bern.

Isn't it unusual how these sorts of tasks tend to accumulate the older you get? Must be that newfangled Technology.

Had a few hours in Glatt-land yesterday. J's daughter got engaged there Sat night and there was a brief celebration. We had the morning so we went to the Smithsonian Am. History museum and saw a few cool things. Quickie review: it didn't disappoint, but I actually thought there would be a lot more "stuff".
