"Me Time"

What do you do? That's just for you?

It's come to my attention recently that -because I spend so much time doing "volunteer" work- most people assume I must have no time for myself. Apparently they also assume I do housework. Suckers! I take a figure-skating class one hour per week, ceramics three hours per week, and I walk with a friend twice a week and lunch with a bunch once a week. And the house is a dump.

What do you do for you?

A slow toke on the creek bank, whatever the weather. Just me and silence...and I don't do it nearly enough.

I also sometimes walk around my neighborhood during the wee hours during a snowfall. I love walking in the silence, it's like I'm the only person on the planet.

Knitting. Lots of knitting.
Playing a musical instrument is good - I don't do enough of that, just once a week at brass band at the moment.

Sci-fi. Mainly. I watch tv and listen to audio plays. Sometimes I just put my headphones on and listen to some film scores/tv scores.

Other times I just lie down and drift into my own thoughts. I love doing that.

Pretty much all my time is "me time".
But I suppose my most valuable time is when I'm walking into school. I'm free of the clamour of home and I don't worry about being judged because I'm part of a walking mass of people all shapes and sizes heading in the same direction. Also as I'm walking in to volunteer I don't feel lazy or like dolescum.

This equilibrium allows me to think and dream.
I don't know if this will remain the case when I do it 5 days a week - I hope so.

I drink chocolate almond milk, or eat salsa and cheese cubes, while I browse the cellar. It does not, however, have a guaranteed schedule or length of time. My "me" time is erratically fit in a few minutes here and there.

In the evenings I usually get an hour or two, at which point it's a wide variety of TV shows streamed from Netflix. But sometimes that timeslot also has laundry folding going on as well.

I like to go hunting or head to the woods for the day. Great time to be alone. And when it is warm I like to go for a long run. Great time to think and reflect.
