If you weren't sitting around all day watching TV and tapatalking, he wouldn't have to help with the housework.

I'd like to register an objection to the "if you can't lose weight, don't look at me," comment: these meals are clearly all conceived by world-renowned Chef Starchy of Carbville. Teach that boy to eat some veggies! And if he won't, just say, "if your heart stops beating, don't look at me."

True dat. He doesn't really have veggies in his meals. I once bought a bag of salad and ended up eating it most of it myself. It's not that he doesn't eat junk food. It's just that he doesn't care for the same junk as I do.

I showed Bruce Clod's post and he said, "Mash potatoes are made from potatoes, and potatoes grow in the ground. They're vegetables." He added that corn is vegetable, and we have that at home. He'll serve corn tonight. Hahaha.....What will we eat corn with? I don't know.

Dude, everything grows in the ground, or else it's meat. White potatoes are a starch, corn is a grain. Get him to try mashed sweet potatoes, and work him up from there.

Hahahahaha.....yeah. I laughed and said the green stuff. He's a very picky eater. That's why I let him cook rather than insisting on it. (okay, I lie. I let him cook because I don't like cooking. ) But seriously, he's a really picky eater. At this age, I doubt that I can make him try new stuffs. But mashed sweet potato is good.

update: Bruce just walked in and I told him about mashed sweet potato. He said, "No..no..no..no." He said he has tried it before and didn't care for the taste.

In all honesty, I don't blame him, sweet potatoes are gross, they're just generally palatable to people who like potatoes.

The answer, clearly, is to batter and deep-fry everything. Start with onion rings, then move up to fried cauliflower, fried okra, fried carrot sticks, fried Brussels sprouts...

I LOVE sweet potatoes!
Can't have them now as I can't cook in my kitchen. But even when my life was normal it was tricky to have a normal sized portion as I didn't know anyone else who loved them too.

Sold Mum on sweet potato crisps (chips) but you need to watch them as they catch fire very quickly. Even got her occasionally eating sweet potato oven-baked chips (fries.)
Now mash though, never mash. But in our house we didn't do the whole cream and butter thing to mash. Just a bit of vinegar.

Why can't you cook in your kitchen?
