God, does this mean I'm going to have to get out my old dichotomous keys to use the Cellar? (inside botanist joke)

Anyhow, I think our Aussie and British friends do a good job of bringing up current events in their countries. I especially love Cyclefrance's running commentary on the state of affairs in UK. Its the most droll thing I've ever read. I think we have plenty of forums, and if there is an American biasis -well, let's face it, most of the members here ARE from the US.

Keep up the good work with the cardigans, Jay. Do you wear them in the summer, too? Does the barking ever annoy your co-workers?

I'd try German, but it's a real bitch to type the umlauts.

I think UT, Bruce, and Wolf are right, the Politics and Current Events section contain any topic, and the US has it's hand in a lot of International Affairs. If someone wants to start a thread on a topic only Aussies or Kiwis would be interested in, then that's fine too.

Yeah, umlauts do get annoying... so to me, they're just blue oyster cult, motley crue, spinal tap and leftover crack.

But how the HELL do you get an 'n' with an umlaut? someone needs to create that character.

I see a thread specific to international or domestic as problematic, because eventually most/many topics would cross-over in some way if they were decent topics that generated a decent number of posts.

As for taxidermy, its dead... whats the issue? Being stuffed can't hurt it any more.

mmmmm........

I guess that's a 'no' , then.....

It was put as a discussion point, and has thus been discussed. I won''t argue the case anymore.

PS Though Much-Binding-In-The-Marsh is indeed English, it is not actually in England.

PPS......

The cardigans have been put away for the current heatwave, but they will be back (probally next week, if Briitish weather runs true to form)

In the UK duing the first week of July I was *amazed* at the folks I saw wearing hoodies and other overgarments in what I thought was fairly hot conditions.

I think each thread should be its own forum. And every post within it its own forum. And so on until no two posts are connected.

Yes, I'm kidding.
