Dishes...Dishes...Where Does It End?

We actually wash our dishes by hand .....and then.... Run them through the dishwasher cycle.

Cleanliness is, after all, next to godliness.

But craziness is right in between the two.

Dishes are not allowed to sit unclean in any form in our house for more than 5 or 6 hours, rarely overnight, and never for any period longer. The kitchen is completely cleaned and dishes in the dish washer within an hour of every meal consumed. When our kids were younger we had them on a duty roster and they cleaned the kitchen, now that they are older, they are never around. It still has to be cleaned.

Serving food is very hard for dishes, so no dish in my house is washed until it has had a good 48-72 hour rest. If not located on the same floor as the kitchen, this time period may be extended to weeks.

Marvelously phrased, UT. I like to let dirtier dishes soak a bit and usually leave some things in the sink overnight. A few days is not completely out of the realm of possibility, however.
