You know those "squint and stare for 30 seconds" staticy-fuzzy pictures? I can NEVER see the pictures. I don't know why.

They probably were able to think for themselves too.
I've got no problem with that. I couldn't stand to be with a stupid or poorly educated woman. I'd hardly have anything to talk about with her.

Back when those things were all the rage, I was able to see the picture in a tiny photograph of the cover of the book in a magazine ad. They actually scale pretty well.

I could see it, but it took longer than it takes me when it's not on a computer screen.

Onyx, have you ever done the "floating sausage" trick with your fingers? You hold your index fingers pointed at each other, about six inches from your nose, and then focus on something beyond them (like your keyboard.) You will see a little floating piece of finger in between your fingertips.

That's essentially what you're trying to do with the stereograms, focus past them. Try switching back and forth between focusing on your keyboard and your fingertips, and then try to do the same eye muscle movement while looking at the picture.

I can see it just fine. But it is taking an effort of will to resist making a wisecrack about Clodfobble's "floating sausage" metaphor.

I had no problem seeing it. Of course, once I saw it, that's another story.

I've always found the ones that involve pictures to be easier than random-dot ones like this one. And like Clodfobble I find it easier in print than on a screen.

Got it on the third try - the whole time mad because as Catwomen said, there are no petals and roses. I know I am being lied to and therefore am solving the problem by thinking like a liar. By putting myself in the perspective of a liar, then, I guess, it was easy to solve.
