Network Drive Pros and Cons
I was looking at this network drive http://www.buy.com/prod/linksys-nas200-network-storage-system-with-2-bays/q/loc/101/205689222.html
I have a wireless router that my son's Mac accesses with a wireless card. I also access the router with a notebook via cable or wireless. If I hook this up, we can all share the same drives. My only concerns are: Security - I am using WEP but it is far from bulletproof. My son's Mac aircard only uses WEP. I would probably have to at least add MAC address verification if I were to place a NAS on the network. Speed - The fine print states that it uses SATA drives but only a 10mpbs interface. Anyone have any suggestions/comments?
