I'm not even sure I understand Chinese philosophy, or even the concept. These are not, I assume, the proverbs that come out of a fortune cookie?

"You have a very sharp and skilled tongue." +"in bed"

Sorry -- old, stupid trick we used to play with fortune cookie fortunes.

What is the general idea behind Chinese philosophy? I know it is very popular, but I don't know much about it.

I think the fortune cookie companies may be in on the "in bed" joke. I got the following fortune once:

" Magic time is created when unconventional person comes"

MY FAVORITE FORTUNE COOKIE STORY:

my mom had a friend who was always depressed and needy. so one night my mom decides to take her some chinee.( our term for chinese food)

they finish eating, and my mom's friend opens her fortune cookie.........and it's blank.

A clever waitress once saved a distraught customer's life, self-esteem, and her tip by responding to such a situation (also works for the dreaded "empty cookie") by saying, "It mean you perfect."
