Declaring myself outside of it by declaring myself a non-voter is a principled stand. Being on no side allows me to more fairly judge and criticize the excesses of all sides.

I recognize that he has had some chickenshit ideas. I also recognize that good people can have bad ideas. I tend to separate the person from the idea and look at their ideas across a wide range of subjects. I don't paint them with a broad brush until they're consistently bad across the board.
