Cellarity Day
This idea came to me a few days ago, before the "Why is Obama Black" thread drifted to MLK day, but now it has, I'm nudged to post.
Seeing as many holidays are national or religion-related, there are very few guaranteed to be meaningful to and celebrated by all dwellars. We need our own holiday and with it, our own traditions. We need a name, we need a date, and we need a set of "traditonal" things to do/eat/say..... My plan is that this is the suggestion thread and then I'll start three polls, one for the name (one vote each) one for the date (one vote each) and one for the traditions to encourage (multiple votes allowed). Here are some suggestions. Name: Cellarity Day; WhalePenis Week; Undertoadmania; Dwellar Daze Date: Feb 23rd. Because. And if that isn't enough, because Feb is generally boring everywhere and 23 is prime and the coolest number out there. Activities

23rd Feb is my birthday:-p
Gotta say I am loving this idea. Was thinking though: rather than a date, how bout the third Friday in whatever month and we call it 'Dwelling Friday' ? Or something like that ( like mothering sunday)

I'd prefer it to be on a weekend, but with "real" festivals you don't get to choose, so hey - I'm up for it.
I may have to make a pair of Cellar knickers, so I can still observe my Day whilst at work. I think I will make Sundae Girl knickers, that way I can personalise them and enjoy them. I can always send them to the highest bidder afterwards - washed or unwashed (sorry) Poor Dana, to be born on Cellar Day. That means she only gets one party

It could be a moveable feast, like easter. Maybe undertoad could let his turtle loose () on a calendar, and whichever day it licks/poops/falls asleep on is it for that year.....
......but maybe then we need to pick a day for "turtle day".... say 3rd Fed, once the groundhog is back in it's hole..... so even if six more weeks of winter are predicted, we still have something to look forward to.....

Just thought - I will wear a plaster on my finger on 23 February.
Like that rapper does on his face (don't ask me who but it makes me laugh). Because there won't be a real cut underneath you see, so no-one will be sorry about my finger.

Tomorrow is Cellarity Day.
Coincides with DanaC's 40th birthday. To celebrate I might take a photo of my dinner. Please add to the thread as to what Cellar-centric action you will take. Whether it is in thought, word or deed. |
