Black olives. Or basically any of the shitty olives I grew up around. Can't stand them even coming in contact with my food, as even the slightest taste is repugnant to me. I love _good_ olives though. Kalamata olives? I'll eat them by the hand full.

All olives are verboten in my book.

Cilantro, on the other hand, is fantastic.

I don't like peppers.

I don't like seafood, though I don't mind canned salmon if it's salty enough. Or breaded shrimp if they're breaded enough.

I don't like mixed meats in a dish. With the exception of bacon because that goes with everything else.

For instance: Indian takeouts offer various curries with a selection of meats (lamb, or chicken or beef etc) but often they also do a medley dish, with chicken and lamb and pork or whatever. Yech. I find the idea really repulsive.

I also don't much like mixing egg and chicken. Seems kind of gross as a concept.

The right olives ... like kalamata or Mount Athos green ... are heaven in your mouth. Too many complex tastes to describe. I close my eyes and give myself up to my senses when I'm eating a Mount Athos olive ...

Snail ... no. I ate one, long ago, on the principle that I couldn't say I didn't like it if I hadn't tried it. Well, bullshit to THAT principle. All I could think of, as I chewed and chewed this rubbery, dirt-tasting thing, was that I was chewing on a f***ing snail. I wanted to retch it up but couldn't, as I was standing in the middle of my parents' 25th anniversary party. But I've never touched a snail since, and now I adhere to my own principle of 'if you think it will make you vomit, say HELL NO (i.e. pass on it gracefully, with a smile)'.

Brussel sprouts smell like old socks. My mom used to create dishes of them every Thanksgiving and my cries of 'this is child abuse' went unheard for years.

I can't think of anything I can't stand. Some things I wouldn't cook for myself, but I will eat it if someone puts it in front of me.

Old sock soaked in old piss.

My sister missed Halloween one year because she threw hers in the trash and lied about eating them. I ate mine. She got the better end of the deal.

I don't mind brussel sprouts if they're sauteed with garlic and onion in lots of butter. A bit of chilli is quite good too.

They are pretty yuck if they're just boiled or steamed.

Cilantro........
Whenever I want something to taste like soap I just add a little cilantro.......the more cilantro you add, the soapier it gets.....

They feel like they have to add that in everything here in the Southwest.

also;

Cilantro: sucks!

Brussels sprouts: suck! Mom tried to make me eat them once. Mine ended up in the garbage too, after I barfed trying to eat the mudderplucker.

I love green olives, they're awesome on pizza, and hate black olives. I like green (white) grapes and hate red/purple grapes. But I like red wine (not the sweet crap, a Pinot Noir or something more dry like that.)

Coconut can bite me...even the smell gags me, sort of like Jheri Curl.

Mushrooms don't know whether to be crunchy or mushy... *shudders*

And green peppers make me gag too. The big kind that are sometimes red or yellow. A little flavor of a jalapeno or something spicy hot is nice, but I won't eat it in big chunks.

I hate cucumbers but love pickles.

I hate crustaceans but love salmon, tuna, halibut, haddock, walleye...etc.

My tastes are quite unrefined. And I like it that way.

Brussel sprouts suck. My mom made a kind of spinach pie with brussel sprouts in it. I got spanked for not eating it and making rude comments about how yucky it was. Actually, I think I had to eat it. In addition to the spanking.

That was almost 40 years ago. That's probably a memory I'll have for my whole life.
