I'm sure by the time Lil Lookout hits third grade he'll be able to do it in his sleeep. Until then I'm stuck with the same songs on my ipod unless I figure out how to do it myself.

Open itunes preferences. In the advanced tab, look for the iTunes Music folder location. Set that to where you want to store your music.

Is this what you mean?

Can someone please explain in 3rd grade terminology how to get my itunes to run off of my external HD?
Are you trying to set up your external drive as your primary library location? Go to the Edit menu, select Preferences and in the Preferences dialog box select the Advanced tab. The top of that tab has the place where you can set the location of your iTunes library.

Would prefer to show than tell.

Your plane ticket is in the mail. Either that, or I'll give you a call later.

Thanks all for your instructions. TBH I haven't had a chance to work on it yet.

I have not personally verified the veracity of that claim but I will certainly say BigV is one hell of a person. Unless of course you are identifying him as one of the anonymous posters of cockidge.
