Sounds like a peaceful place to lay your father down to rest Dana.

As for me I just received another interview invite. That's two in seven weeks of unemployment. Things are looking up! Even if I do not get a job at least I'm getting bites.

After educating Mum on Eggs Benedict, she made it for her and Dad this morning for breakfast.
I always get up later than they do - mostly indolence (and my ongoing issue sleeping - I might not fall asleep until 04.00) but also to keep out of their morning routine, which has been 40 years in the making.

So when I got up at 09.00, Mum was already over at Maureen's, feeding her cat - Maureen has gone away for a few days, it's a reciprocal arrangement. Mum came back and said, "Oh, I left some Hollandaise sauce, I was going to offer you breakfast."

GUTTED. I'd just had Shredded Wheat with skimmed milk. So much healthier, but I never have anyone to make me breakfast, let alone the fiddly, washing-up-rich fare of Eggs Benedict.

But she then continued, "I'll have to make it for you fo lunch instead."

RESULT! And I am now full of lovely, fatty, buttery goodness, and feeling much loved. Helps that I pulled off an awesome honey & mustard pork last night I think. Oh and they're going out for dinner with my sister's family - for my neice's 15th birthday and I'm not invited. Mum feels guilty, but of course it's not her guest list and totally not her fault. But hey, I got a lovely lunch out of it.

It'll attract bees. Which would please dad no end. Loved his bees *smiles*.

Mart had already prepped a spot; and we planted the tree and buried his ashes by moonlight and campfire. It was lovely. And given how much of a night-owl dad was, it was right too.
Outstanding - I could see it in my mind's eye - wish I could do the same for my dad. I'll pretend he's next to yours, and I was next to you, if you don't mind.

I've been unemployed since the end of August. I barely see my wife these days because she's going to school full-time and is now working almost full-time. I live in my mother-in-law's house, and will probably be here at least another year. And I hit my highest weight ever 2 weeks ago.

But you know what? I'm happy to be alive. I have a wonderful wife, a roof over my head and caring friends and family. The situation is not very good right now...but it will get better. And it could be a whole lot worse.

All I can do is keep plugging away...eventually I'll have a job and my wife will be done with culinary school. And I'll be able to buy my guitars back and she can have her dream kitchen. And we will have our own place to live again...hopefully a house!

I've been in some pretty dark moods the past few weeks. I just try to keep telling myself that things WILL get better. It may take a while, but it will get better.

She has someone she needs to fix...a WR, I think.

In looking at my team by players and points, it doesn't look that bad. But when I look at it as a whole, I'm just like, "Fuck!"

Unfortunately, yeah: my bass, my guitar, my effects board and my PS2 and all its games. Didn't want to, but we hit a financial low point in August so they became expendable.

I am hoping...HOPING...that this is the absolute low point in my life. I thought I hit it when I got sick 4 years ago, but no...this seems to be the low. And if this IS the low, then I'm gonna be alright.

BD#2 told me today that 10-yr old grandson has become totally obsessed with Dr. Who.

She said, in some bemusement, "and he has all of the last Doctor's episodes on hold at the library. What a nerd."

That's my boy!
