I seriously doubt I could eat a double, let alone a quadruple.

For purely mainstream fast food outlets, I think Hardees currently has the best readily available burger.

Hardees = Carl's Jr. Same company, just different names in different parts of the country.

It turns out Oklahoma and Colorado have both Hardees and Carl's...

I'd have to go with Wendy's, personally follwed by Burger King.

And yet.....sometimes there is an itch that only a McDonalds Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese, no onions can scratch.

even though you know full well that it will be oozing from your pores within 45 minutes.

I need a salad just thinking about it.

I was thinking it looks a lot like an In-N-Out burger.

They do strain and process the grease daily. When Dyer's Burgers opened their Beale Street store, the owners hired a police escort for their prized vat of grease, which made the five-mile journey in an armored car. It was an astute move -- the publicity surrounding the event was huge, and folks from all over town soon lined up, eager to purchase a bag full of doubles with cheese.
Oh I do miss Dyer's!

Skyline chili - that ain't no chili. 'Course that's just my opinion. I like meaty chili with beans and spice. Different strokes for different folks.

Graeter's is nice, always busy, but I've been spoiled by Sheridan's Frozen Custard. Going "to get some tonight" for my birthday as a matter of fact! Whoohoo!

Fuddrucker's, however, is by no means a good hamburger place. To be a good place, your hamburgers have to actually taste like something. Fuddrucker's is all hype, no flavor. The poor SOB's have gotten it exactly backwards.

Burger King kicks their butt.

And In'N'Out very much rules the retroburger roost in SoCal. Their hamburgers do taste like something.

... thanks wolf! Somehow I missed the "fast food" in the title.

White Castles get a vote from me, basically because they're small and I'm not a big burger fan. I like them with the Dusseldorf mustard. Jalapeno burgers are yummy too.

My fave? Swiss Miss from Frisch's. QP burger on a rye bun with swiss cheese, tartar sauce, pickle, shredded lettuce.

Frisch's Big Boy is a close second - kind of like a Big Mac, but with about twice as much flavor.

If you're ever in Ohio/IN/KY you've got to find a Frisch's and check it out.
