Is this what you need?

Lexington, VA 37° 47' 2" N 79° 26' 35" W

Cloverdale, VA 37° 21' 54" N 79° 54' 20" W

They're both right on the Civil War highway I-81

I drove part of I-81 once...from I-70 in MD to Chambersburg.

Wait a minute...I think I've driven more than that. Let me look at my atlas...

Oh yeah...and part of it in Harrisburg...and Scranton.

I drive I83 from I695 to PA30 in York all the time.

That's how I go to visit my beloved.

I once went from I70 in MD through to PA30 west of Gettysburg by mistake, I forgot I wanted 83. That almost cost me big time, I had a (first) date and it made me very late. If she hadn't decided to give me one more chance and peeked back into the restaurant where we were supposed to meet, I'd have missed her.

Talking

81 used to be my main drag... Lived in Shippensburg for two years while paying for but not attending college. It's pretty beautiful country out there as long as you don't stop to talk or anything...

The 81/83 intersection was my back yard until age 13. I did band camp at Shippensburg, and worked at the McDonalds at the Carlisle exit of 81. ("The worst McDonalds anywhere")

This just begs the question, what made it such a bad McDonald's?

Actually it was the intersection of the PA Turnpike exit and 81. And that meant trucks and people from the entire west were stopping there on their way to NYC and the northeast. And it was not generally well-managed, because it was hard to get people to care. So it was poorly cleaned, didn't smell exactly right, etc.

Nevertheless, because of its location, you had a large number of people coming in from their home bases and winding up at our stupid little McD, generally to find disappointment.

That summer they first came out with Chicken McNuggets, in Pittsburgh only, in a test marketing. So there were good numbers of people who would come in and ask for McNuggets, and we had to tell them that they couldn't have them, at which point they would become very sad.

Probably true. We would make batches of fries just for us, and special sundaes with 50% toppings and such.

My bandmate worked at a Jack in the Box in the St. Louis suburbs. I basically got all the Colossus Burgers, Chicken Supremes, and Dr. Peppers that I wanted. That was nice. Unhealthy, but nice.
