Kansas City's Irish Fest

I attended the Irish Fest with several friends a couple of weekends ago. Great time!

From left to right, Joyce, Susan, Me and Jen...three of my Pagan lovelies (okay, they aren't mine, but we do like each other).

Green fountains are slightly disconcerting. Nice ass to the right. The trio in Pic 2 are Jill and Lane, two of my musical partners, and Lane's husband Lou. I have known Lane and Jill for about 35 years at this point.

Pic 1 - Hot Canadian redheaded fiddler chick looks me square in the lens...the band was the Glengarrie Boys. Obviously, someone's papa failed to have that birds and bees talk. Pic 2 - Okay, rather disconcerting, these green fountains.

Pic 1 - The Fest was held at Crown Center, the megasite that Hallmark built. The building in the background with the revolving restaurant atop it is the infamous Hyatt House, where the skywalk collapse occurred. Pic 2 - Crown Center has many fountains, and this one attracts tons of families with children in tow to splash about on hot summer days.

Pic 1 - Give a guy five or six stouts, and he starts either leaning, or getting creative. Jill is having an intense conversation of some sort with Lane. Inexplicably, I have become ridiculously hot for Jill for the first time in our lives. Shame she doesn't share that...
Pic 2 - After five or six stouts, I *swear* she was looking at me. Or maybe she's just a real ham.

The evening ended with that ancient Irish tradition, fireworks...which reflected in the glass facade of an adjacent building...which, had I uploaded the right picture, you'd see.

Nice. I try to make it to Celtic Heritage, the (Texas Scottish Festival &) Highland Games, and the North Texas Irish Festival every chance I get...

I worked our local Irish Fest again this year, but brought no camera and spent the day drinking home made Irish cream in the kitchen watching the salt taters.

I wish my life was more like yours.

<in the background> Oh nothing honey, just checking my e-mail. More boring spam you know. </in the background>

Elspode--looks like a lot of fun! And hey, I've actually been to the Crown Center (and the big Hallmark store in there). I visited the Kansas Renaissance faire one year.

It's North of the South part. Texas is bigger than Afghanistan; as large as all of New England, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and North Carolina combined. It's about 800 miles from top to bottom, and almost as much from side to side (so, yes, we have East and West in Texas, too).

North Texas commonly refers to the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) Metroplex, which has a population of 6 million and is larger in area than Rhode Island.

Thank you. I haven't made it much into the interior of the republic. El Paso is really part of New Mexico anyway. :)

A California law firm recently hired a Texas court reporter to serve a subpoena in El Paso. From Houston.

I just now noticed that the woman bending over tending to her child in that green fountain pic has either wet herself, or somehow managed to wet only her crotch in the other fountain.

Cloud - I was at Renfaire today, as a matter of fact.

I'd like to hand it to her, but she's not one of the interested ones. The redhead on the left, however, is.

We love to go to the Irish fests around here. Our St. Pats Day parade is one of the largest in the US. We also have a huge Rugby Tourny during the same weekend. Great pics and by-line.
