That's called a Brazilian tree line.

The busyness, the intensity of pattern and color in the restaurant are familiar, after decades of association with Russian/Asian culture, but I find it claustrophobic. Beautiful craftsmanship, but not my cup of tea.

Wikipedia:

Dushanbe means "Monday" in the Tajik language. It was so named because it grew from a village that originally had a popular market on Mondays.

So awesome, Limey. You go to the coolest places.

We had an exchange student my senior year of high school (1993-94) from Dushanbe...she was really cool and it was fun to learn about another country.
