6/15/2006: Mass Destruction of Weapons
Ibby Thursday Jun 15 02:44 PM All those shredded chunks of gun flying through the air look pretty damn dangerous... rkzenrage Thursday Jun 15 02:57 PM In our house this is known as WMD. glatt Thursday Jun 15 02:57 PM I'm more interested in the machine that can shred these guns. Seems to me a machine at a typical scrap yard would have "teeth" sized to shred larger objects, like washing machines or refrigerators. And something as small as a gun might get jammed in the teeth or pass through unscathed. Guns are pretty dense and aren't made of soft metal either, so what metal are the "teeth" made of? glatt Thursday Jun 15 02:58 PM Quote:

Why don't they just blow them up, the old-fashioned way? capnhowdy Thursday Jun 15 06:41 PM The "goo" they are covered in is most likely carboline. xoxoxoBruce Thursday Jun 15 07:07 PM Get thee to a Makarov. footfootfoot Thursday Jun 15 08:25 PM the gooey stuff is a kind of grease and the paper is an oil impregnated paper, like parchment, I think it is to help prevent rust during shipping and storage. I only have ever seen this on tools coming out of the orient or eastern europe. I think when I was a kid I remember seeing something similar at an army surplus store. xoxoxoBruce Friday Jun 16 12:34 AM Nah, shrapnel for anti-personnel mines. WabUfvot5 Friday Jun 16 01:27 AM It's obvious that glue / goo / tape is really skin of the gun; not unlike that of an onion. It's plain that whatever Scandinavian country (Sweden or Finland) has developed a method of growing guns in the soil. It's imperative the USA liberate the people of that country and use those guns for good - not evil. Uryoces Friday Jun 16 11:42 AM They look like they are Tokarev TT-33 Pistols - 7.62 mm. I was considering one of them before my friend recommended the CZ-52. I really like the CZ. I've heard it's a very accurate pistol, and I'm proficient enough with it. I need to go shooting some day soon, and bring along it's big brother the SKS. xoxoxoBruce Friday Jun 16 04:05 PM I just noticed the crate closest to the camera in the first picture looks like it's labeled 500 pieces. footfootfoot Saturday Jun 17 11:02 PM Quote:

Very. However, I would perhaps find amusement if someone forgot to unload the mags of the ones that are being barbequed, and they cook off. Serve the damn gun grabbers right, that would. lookout123 Wednesday Jun 21 04:54 AM whew! wolf checked in. i was afraid what this thread would drive her to... xoxoxoBruce Wednesday Jun 21 05:24 AM She's been very busy.
