October 17, 2006: Clockwork tiger

Skunks catches another one, this time at this gamers forum. It's a clockwork tiger, created by this gent in Belgium, whose "about me" page is a lone image:

But back to the tiger:

The tiger actually does walk, albeit a bit awkwardly. See the creator riding it here:

It reminds me of the Canard Digérateur and less more so of the Mechanical Turk

Sundae  Tuesday Oct 17 11:59 AM

Yup, I'd be happy to ride that home from the supermarket. Where do I sign up?

Griff  Tuesday Oct 17 12:04 PM

too cool

LabRat  Tuesday Oct 17 01:55 PM

Yum, I guess chocolate isn't the only thing in Belgium that's yummy...

Oh, and the tiger is pretty sweet.

Happy Monkey  Tuesday Oct 17 02:44 PM

Sharpe's Tiger, anyone?

Agreed on this one. Damn, UT, you know how to pick IOTD.

Tiger must not mind being ridden, she's purring like a motor.
Is there a clip of him riding the mechanical woman in the center picture?

I was hoping that was what it was. Is that Tiger ( in the book) real?

Happy Monkey  Wednesday Oct 18 12:41 PM

Yes. It's in a London museum.

Elspode  Thursday Oct 19 01:22 PM

If this thing ever gets a theme song, I hope its "Eye of the Timex".
