March 24, 2007: Neck tumor man

The UK Metro has this one, an oddity. It would have appeared two days ago, but the Crystal Caves sent so much traffic that day, it became necessary to hold off additional hits. Sorry!

Apparently Huang Liquan first noticed a little growth in his neck in 1990. But you know us men. It's no big deal, we don't wanna go to the doctor, it's not a toomah!

Only sometimes it is a toomah.

Quote:
Liqian developed symptoms such as severe pain and restricted movement two years ago, so he decided that it was time to find out what was happening to his body.

After finally approaching doctors with the growing problem, his medical diagnosis revealed that he had a neck tumour.

That's the way it's going over there. They just brought in their first law protecting property ownership.

Oh and at the picture!

seakdivers  Saturday Mar 24 08:44 PM

Huh. Interesting.

I wonder why upper part of his body (arms, etc) are disproportionate to the lower part of the body. Bad circulation from the tumor?

zippyt  Saturday Mar 24 09:27 PM

spermazotial backup ????

Sorry ;(

Clodfobble  Saturday Mar 24 09:50 PM

His neck looks pretty elongated too, like the tumor's given it a little African-neck-ring treatment. I wonder if his head will be all floppy once they remove the tumor?

kerosene  Sunday Mar 25 01:51 AM

Geez, that poor man! It does look like it has somehow affected his upper body in general. I wonder how that works?

That law wasn't because they cared about the rights of the individual. It's to convince foreign investors their investment won't snatched by the state. Boeing refused to build a facility in Viet Nam because they don't have such a law.

Having lived with the tumor so long, I would imagine there will be all sorts of problems caused by it's removal. Will the upper body suddenly start to grow to proportion with the rest of the body? His arms look swollen -will they shrink? Is the tumor malignant? I'm guessing not because the article didn't mention it.

The op should be done by now. I wonder what the outcome was?

wolf  Sunday Mar 25 02:32 PM

The tumor is probably impairing his ability to eat, and there could be a lot of fluid trapped in the tissues of the extremities.

monster  Sunday Mar 25 02:41 PM

It seems the hospital is in the same city as the lady who's refusing to allow her house to be demolished. Coincidence?

chrisinhouston  Thursday Mar 29 05:02 PM

Where the hell do you shop for a suit with those measurements?

Oh, of course The Men's Warehouse. "Your gonna love the fit and the price, I guarantee it!" George Zimmer, CEO

Sorry for all the overseas Cellarites but this guy rules the suit world in the states.

BigV  Thursday Mar 29 05:26 PM

Maybe he wears the coat upside down.

Shawnee123  Thursday Mar 29 05:49 PM

OK, this is terrible, but all I can think about is this picture.

And it took forever to remember from where I was picturing that image.

smith02  Monday Apr 16 02:51 PM

how does he living?

Ohh!!! god, how does he living with such a big tumor? Because benign masses do not spread (metastasize) to surrounding tissue and are not cancerous. Nevertheless, benign masses can be serious if they impact nerves or exert pressure in the head and neck, and are often removed surgically. These include cysts, thyroid masses, vascular masses, salivary gland masses, and others.

duck_duck  Monday Apr 16 03:25 PM

It looks like he should be choking from it.
