July 23, 2007: Monkey on a goat on a platform on a wire
Uisge Beatha Monday Jul 23 08:46 AM Hey, even the monkey knows - tough tasks are easier with your tongue sticking out. Shawnee123 Monday Jul 23 08:57 AM Ohhhhhhhhhhkay. That's entertainment. Flint Monday Jul 23 10:07 AM He's like the Michael Jordan of monkeys. glatt Monday Jul 23 10:21 AM The Cellar IotD goat balancing images are getting more impressive. Shawnee123 Monday Jul 23 10:21 AM Wacky Flint Monday Jul 23 10:24 AM Quote:
TheMercenary Monday Jul 23 10:29 AM The little tongue sticking out is priceless. Wild pic. axlrosen Monday Jul 23 11:29 AM I can't tell if the goat is concentrating intently, or incredibly pissed off. Uisge Beatha Monday Jul 23 12:13 PM Quote:
spudcon Monday Jul 23 12:43 PM Zoom in on the base of the pedestal. It seems Chinese tables can levitate beside the wire, not on it. Shawnee123 Monday Jul 23 12:52 PM Really strange that I heard this song this morning: Flint Monday Jul 23 12:57 PM ... Shawnee123 Monday Jul 23 12:59 PM Gravdigr Monday Jul 23 03:45 PM Quote:
MalzB Monday Jul 23 04:23 PM I love monkeys! Undertoad Monday Jul 23 04:56 PM I'm going with not a fake and that the platform is permanently attached to the wire somehow. Shawnee123 Monday Jul 23 04:59 PM If you look at the picture in the link, the goat seems to be floating around the wire in some way. Flint Monday Jul 23 05:14 PM More overzealous 'shop-calling... Shawnee123 Monday Jul 23 05:18 PM I'm not trying to be difficult. Did you look at the pic where the goat is stepping directly on the wire? It doesn't look right somehow. I was hoping you, and your kind, o grand experts of all that is photo and shopped, could explain why the goat seems to be hovering on the wire. IN the picture IN the link. Was hoping one of you photogs or big-time cartoonists could tell me. Flint Monday Jul 23 05:29 PM If all four feet were touching the wire, he wouldn't be walking. Understand, this isn't a big deal to a goat. He's just waltzing along. Spexxvet Monday Jul 23 05:59 PM There's a bump on a log on hole on monkey on a goat on a platform on a wire at the bottom of the sea.... xoxoxoBruce Monday Jul 23 06:49 PM I think what Shawnee is seeing, is the half of the cloven hoof that's not on the wire, is hanging down on the other side. DucksNuts Monday Jul 23 07:25 PM Quote:
Sheldonrs Monday Jul 23 08:50 PM Well who ISN'T walking a fine line when you have a monkey on your back? Uisge Beatha Monday Jul 23 08:57 PM Quote:
TheMercenary Monday Jul 23 10:06 PM Holy crap that is funny! The dog and the monkey. Looks real. DucksNuts Monday Jul 23 10:21 PM I love the look on Flint's dog's face...its like "oh boy, oh boy, oh boy...I'm gonna get em" Nivek Monday Jul 23 10:25 PM Both the goat and the monkey are more talented than I'll ever be. Flint Monday Jul 23 11:10 PM Holy crap, I just realized that "Wrangler" (post #13) was IotD for 10/29/2002. My Google Image search hit on Neatorama's caption "Cowboy Monkey" but it linked back here. And I have to say, I think Wrangler is photoshopped. I noticed, after posting the pic, that he is surrounded by image artifact. Shawnee123 Tuesday Jul 24 08:48 AM I'm having trouble seeing where the weight is being borne on the front. But, I don't know much about goats...he might be strong enough that a split second of no weight on the front is do-able. Just looked funny to me. Eh, what do I know? xoxoxoBruce Tuesday Jul 24 07:41 PM The weight is on the front most hoof and the other front hoof is just lifting off the wire, I think. Anada Wednesday Jul 25 12:31 PM I must agree that it doesn't look quite right... altough goats can easily balance themselves in the most incredible of places, this wire thing looks unreal to me too.. Shawnee123 Wednesday Jul 25 01:01 PM Hi Anada! Flint Wednesday Jul 25 04:27 PM Shawnee123 Wednesday Jul 25 04:45 PM Well ain't that just the end-all, be-all quote to shut us up. Quote:
Flint Wednesday Jul 25 05:02 PM DucksNuts Wednesday Jul 25 09:03 PM I dont think its a wire as such, but a bit of pipe or some such thing and goats are like cats....they can balance on nothing. wolf Thursday Jul 26 01:32 AM He's off trying to figure out how to make them do this, and also how to charge admission. Shawnee123 Thursday Jul 26 11:16 AM Great cartoon! :p Griff Thursday Jul 26 11:39 AMFeeling guilty about not posting more pics. Quote:

Shawnee123 Friday Jul 27 03:27 PM Naw, you're fine, Anada. I was just using your post as a vehicle to continue a little picking on each other thingy I had going on with a couple other 'ites. It's all good clean fun. Even a slurp spider was looking a shop debate posted a few years ago. Hillrick Monday Jul 30 08:55 PM Been there... saw that At first glance I said this looked like something you would see in China, then I looked again and said "I think I saw this in Nanning!" Sure enough that is where they said it was, right down at the zoo. They have a soccer playing elephant that is more interesting though... DanaC Monday Jul 30 09:15 PM Well, hello Hillrick! Welcome to the Cellar. A soccer playing elephant you say? Hillrick Tuesday Jul 31 05:21 PM Hi Dana Well...he only kicked a ball towards a goal, he wasn't heading theball or any Shoalin soccer moves... Anada Tuesday Aug 7 04:47 AM And... Quote:
xoxoxoBruce Sunday Mar 2 11:29 AM For the doubters... Gravdigr Sunday Mar 2 12:16 PM I think it's all done with mirrors. Or remote control. Or magic. Or something!! I'm troubled by the rope/wire not changing (sagging) when the goat steps on and/or off, though. And the audience seems entirely unimpressed, judging from their lackluster response... toranokaze Monday Mar 3 12:33 AM it is all done with photoshop
