November 24, 2007: Hunter without a license What do you do when you are a hunter but you lose your driver's license? Well you get your deer home any way you can. Quote:
aero geek Friday Nov 23 02:43 PM Pan fried with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli... Gravdigr Friday Nov 23 04:42 PM Wheeee!! I get to be the first to eat the ima--??? Aww, dammit!!! LJ Friday Nov 23 05:30 PM im thinking that it's a road kill. i see no blood from a wound. and if he was a hunter...wouldnt he have a gun somewhere on his person? Sheldonrs Friday Nov 23 07:46 PM He hit the deer with his bike? Aliantha Friday Nov 23 07:56 PM maybe he dropped the gun home first? Aliantha Friday Nov 23 07:57 PM or maybe he put it in the rear holster? Griff Friday Nov 23 08:34 PM Speaking of holsters, I saw an only in America this fine morning. Dude has the 1/4 acre suburban lot, space is delineated by white washed fence with leeetle American flags mounted on each post, is raking leaves and dumping them into trailer behind 4 wheeler, said four wheeler has mounted scabbard, scabbard contains rifle, which prolly can provide cover over vast acres. You need to be pun-ished for that one. Sheldonrs Saturday Nov 24 01:51 AMWell, I did get spanked earlier. ;-) rkzenrage Saturday Nov 24 04:06 AM Quote:
Scriveyn Saturday Nov 24 05:27 AM The guy couldn't find his scarf, so he grabbed the first thing that came to hand to keep warm. SPUCK Saturday Nov 24 05:50 AM Why do you think it's dead? He's probably just taking it down to the park for exercise. ZenGum Saturday Nov 24 06:29 AM If it's not dead, it's very very calm. astrodex Saturday Nov 24 08:41 AM What, no camera phone? Any time anything even slightly interesting happens around here I see 10 people with camera phones snapping away. Poor cell coverage in Iron Mountain? Spexxvet Saturday Nov 24 09:20 AMIt's just shagged out after a prolonged squawk. TheMercenary Saturday Nov 24 10:58 PM I wonder how many deer ticks he picked off his neck, back, and out of his hair after the delivery. Those things are usually covered and as the deer cools they quickly look for a new home. Crimson Ghost Sunday Nov 25 12:29 AMIt's a Norwegian Blue deer. Quite common, this one. xoxoxoBruce Sunday Nov 25 04:24 PM Quote:
Cloud Sunday Nov 25 04:28 PM ticks. ick! coolcat Sunday Nov 25 11:21 PM say cheese! In the second picture it looks like he stopped for a moment to allow his picture to be taken. Notice his left foot is on the pavement.... I love that cool old schwinn cruiser he's riding. Coign Monday Nov 26 12:32 PM Quote:
Guesstimate, I would say that deer is about 80-100 lbs. Gravdigr Thursday Nov 29 09:10 AM In the lower photo, there appears to be a little blood on the front of the doe's hind leg. Also, note the rope mark in the hair on her neck. This would tend to indicate that the deer was hung from the neck and field-dressed (gutted), so a little less weight to carry. I agree w/Coign, probably 75-100 lbs. As for deer ticks, from the photo it looks well into cold weather, deer ticks would be long gone. morie Thursday Nov 29 10:00 AM Quote:
