From Neatorama. Blonds in Europe.

So in Northern Poland there are many Polish blonds.

Doesn't this enter some sort of old joke time-space continuum thing? Like the cat with buttered toast on its back?

Q: How can you tell if a Polish blond has been sitting at your computer?

A: There's white-out on the screen, but not real white-out, it's white paint.

I am polish and there are more than a few blonds in my family.

I didn't expect the one beige area in the British Isles.

Do they have one for redheads??

And I can tell you that most Swedes are NOT naturally blonde. Peroxide sales in Scandinavia must be through the roof to keep up the fiction.

The other thing I've noticed is that they LIE about it constantly. You compliment a friend on her highlights and she tells you it's natural! And people with 2" of obvious regrowth try and tell you that their blonde is natural as well. Spare me!

I think we now know where the hole in the Ozone layer is.

isn't it funny how there's more blondes in the HEEL of Italy's boot than anywhere else in Italy? you'd think the Italian blones would be in the north.

It would be interesting to see the stats for here in Australia. We have a huge nation of blonde heads roaming around, including myself.

Hi ya , I'm itching to get back to Thailand to be with the elephants again. I'm hoping Santa will be nice this year and give me a trip. The only problem being I've got a one year old to tow along.
There's not many blonde heads over there, I stand out in a crowd.

There was a programme on fairly recently re tracing bloodlines back in the UK. I only caught the end of it, but it seemed less people were descended from Viking bloodlines than they (the families) had hoped.

The thing is the English (and to a far lesser extent the rest of the UK) is a mongrel race. To the extent that the description "English Rose" refers more to a strawberries and cream complexion with fair (rather than true blonde) hair. But we're pretty accepting. We are pretty much willing to call anyone successful, brave or accomplished British, despite their heritage. English is trickier - have to be born here as well as all the above.

There's no way more than half the people in the north of England have naturally blonde hair.

The highest percentage of natural redheads in the world is in Scotland (13%), followed closely by Ireland with 10%. In the US, about 2% of the population are natural redheads.
Are they considered "light haired"?

Are these statistics based on the adult population? Including kids can skew the statistics. Some kids start off with blond hair when they are young and then grow out of it.
