SPUCK Friday May 9 05:13 AMMay 9B, 2008 Slackin at low tide.
Wasn't sure the antler spam was the Friday ani mule shot so I figured I'll run this.
I caught this shot down at our City's wharf.

rupip Friday May 9 06:37 AMhow do they get up there?
- climb? (nah),
- jump out of the water (clever)
- swim at high tide and wait, and wait, and wait, and wait
and the more important question: what do they taste like?
Griff Friday May 9 06:47 AMThe living is good.
DucksNuts Friday May 9 06:56 AMDo they smell ickie Bruce???
The beach where I went to see some, was on the nose totally. Apparently, they regurgitate the bones, skin etc that they cant digest.

That was me in a seal costume. Sorry.
el fantastico Friday May 9 02:52 PMin the old wharf section of newport, oregon there is a resident colony of sea lions who live on and around the unused docks and pilings. i found them when i heard (and smelled) what sounded like an old man coughing up a lung made of 3 day old, rotting fish. which... i guess... is kind of what they were doing.
Gravdigr Friday May 9 03:23 PMLooks like a bit of seal(ion?) cheesecake to me....

They have a faintly fishy flavor, like a bald eagle. And yet their meat is surprisingly stringy, much like a Siberian tiger's.
Griff Saturday May 10 11:24 AMKind of like a cross between manatee and Tazmanian tiger?
Warren Peas Saturday May 10 11:55 PMel fantastico
I likewise have visited Newport, made the mistake of staying in a waterfront motel across the inlet from the sealion hangout(haul out). Damn things kept us awake all night.
