xoxoxoBruce Monday Jan 26 12:46 AMJan 26, 2009: iPod Envy
Everybody and his brother has an iPod these days... except me.
The iPod, in various guises, has been such a success there are bazillions of attachments for them being made by companies everywhere.
All the catalogs stuffed in my mailbox, as well as the online shopping outlets, have speakers, docks, pouches, and you name it, made specifically for iPods.
All this has led to another social phenominon... iPod Envy.
Envy of people that have a later or more expensive model. Or people that have more or better aftermarket accessories. How do you keep up with the Joneses?
Here's how... get an iPod Touch and sniper rifle software.
Quote:
A new application has been launched for the iPod touch to help gun users line up a clean shot at their target.
The BulletFlight app, which costs £6.99 to download from the iTunes store, has been developed by Runaway App to turn the iPod touch into a ballistics computer which the company says can provide “quick solutions in the field”.
Users can mount their iPod touch to their rifle, and then use the iPod’s touch-screen to tap in details about the wind conditions, ammunition type, distance to the intended target and even the wind speed.
“Unlike other apps, BulletFlight does not output information in table format,” says the application’s iTunes page. “What it does do is dynamically give you the solution you need now to take that shot.”

That'll fix the Joneses.

So does the phrase "Number 1 with a bullet".
capnhowdy Monday Jan 26 07:57 AMI'd like to have the three rifles it is designed for. I can live without the device.
spudcon Monday Jan 26 09:22 AMNow you can get RickRolled on your iPOD, and get revenge at the same time.
sweetwater Monday Jan 26 11:20 AMSerendipity! I just got a gun - a Walther PP - last Saturday. Maybe I could sight it using that device. Or just listen to tunes while lining up cans.
Leokins Monday Jan 26 02:41 PMI think the assassins just decided they needed something to do during those long boring minutes waiting for their shot.

Congrats! Walther is a nice gun. Interesting to me how many companies are trying to imitate them.
Scriveyn Tuesday Jan 27 02:38 AMGood thing this isn't a M$oft App

Oh, and shouldn't there be some US safety regulations heeded?

capnhowdy Tuesday Jan 27 07:55 AMI'm sure the person on the receiving end has to click on an EULA.
Undertoad Tuesday Jan 27 10:03 AM"Do not allow this bullet to enter your body unless you agree to the following conditions."
Pie Tuesday Jan 27 10:28 AMJust print the EULA (in 0.001 point font) on the bullet itself: "By allowing this bullet into your person, you agree to the following terms and conditions:..."
