Mar 13, 2009: Dog Boots

From November 1929, Modern Mechanix magazine, posted here.

I wonder, in 1929, what the chances of getting many rides were?
Less traffic but moving slower and friendlier.
No superhighway traffic whizzing by, but people not going as far.

A man from Philadelphia, heading to Califormia, with a poodle? Ghey.

I do like the dog's haircut though.

SPUCK  Friday Mar 13 04:25 AM

I wonder if they make better poodle paws now days?

Remember to remove the shoes before barbecue.

Trilby  Friday Mar 13 07:33 AM

He looks right chipper in his boots, as if silenty saying, "Finally! Somebody gets me!"- a proud fellow, set apart from his own species by sheer force of will.

good for him!

Adds new meaning to giving your dog the boot.

ZenGum  Friday Mar 13 08:20 AM

November '29? That was never a pet. It was lunch on the hoof.

Shawnee123  Friday Mar 13 08:47 AM

I bet his momma wears combat boots.

sweetwater  Friday Mar 13 08:59 AM

And his name is Boots, or at least it is now.

Shawnee123  Friday Mar 13 09:15 AM

These boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do
one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you.

Are you ready boots? Start walkin'!

birdclaw  Friday Mar 13 10:43 AM

What ever will dogs do for boots now? The US has an alarming lack of cobblers!

xoxoxoBruce  Friday Mar 13 11:28 AM

Probably not a problem since Google has 2,090,000 hits for dog boots.

And they all link to that video of the dog humping/booting/eating it up.
