Aug 1, 2009: Watercolors

Big time art connoisseurs tend to downplay watercolors, but watercolor's transparency can produce some stunning effects, and a lighter feeling.
I think these paintings are pretty good, way better than I could do.

And it really hurts my ego that the painter, Kieron Williamson, is six years old.

Quote:
Experts have said that the six-year-old's atmospheric paintings, which began with harbour scenes and expanded to include rural vistas, animal portraits and landmarks, have perspective, shadow and reflections that demonstrate an ability well beyond his years.
Well yeah... damn whippersnapper... better stay off my lawn. :p

Amazing given that this seems to be a regular kid, not an autistic savant or a kid with cheating parents who are doing the work for him.

I, on the other hand, paint like an ordinary six year old.

Probably comes from having been made to color in the lines all through my childhood.

6 years old? Unreal! Those are very nice.

And he knows cursive?! Working on a triple threat.

When this kid paints on the living room wall, do you send him to his room and wash it off?

Shawnee123  Saturday Aug 1 01:24 PM

I would love to have him paint my entire spare room!

Proof positive that talent is not something you learn, but someting you are born with. Beautiful work.

My natural talent, sadly, is not in painting.
