Sept 2, 2009: Rarest Record Album

If you Google "Rarest Record Album" there's 3 hits;
1 - Beatles "Yesterday & Today", with the bloody clothes.
2 - The "Double Fantasy" album, John Lennon autographed for Mark Chapman.
3 - An NBC 78rpm record, labeled "Crocker First National Bank".

Here's what I think is the rarest...

Sorry for the crappy picture.

Quote:
Possibly the rarest album in the history of music, Music For Supermarkets was written for an art exhibition. The one single copy of the album was auctioned and the master tape was destroyed. It was broadcast on the radio only once and Jarre encouraged listeners to make pirate copies of it.
Some people must have done that, because there are copies on the net.
But they are just copies, the original is got to be about the rarest album in the world.

Ambient 1: Music for Airports, Brian Eno

Not as rare but on the same theme. Great music for going off to sleep to.

There's a hole right outside Flint's house where you can put it.

I listen to Music For Airports almost every day at work. I keeps me from strangling ass-hats.

I love Jean-Michel Jarre. Albedo 0.39 is one of my favorites. Never knew about this one, though.

Wouldn't it just suck if the guy who bought it died and his family was going through the house and said, "Oh, nobody listens to vinyl, just throw those out."

JMJ gives me nightmares. We were forced to listen to it in school assembly. If it's playing in a supermarket, I am so outta there......

But, unlike your farts, only one of these records was made. And few people have heard it.

After sampling it, I understand why few people have heard it. It's like Al Franken's attempt at talk radio. Most people would rather listen to monster's farts.

ZenGum  Wednesday Sep 2 08:51 PM

Monster, I think you need to record a fart and post it on youtube for us to consider.
