Sept 21, 2010: Yellow Lobster
This lobster (labstah) is yellow.
Maybe it's pre-buttered.
Maybe it's chicken... of the sea.

Yellow lobsters are rare, but not unheard of. When one was brought ashore in Massachusetts last year, several experts said its coloration came from a gene carried by both parents that occurs in about one in 30 million lobsters. She said she did some research on lobsters with unusual colors and found estimates varied widely. For blue lobsters, she said estimates ranged from one in a million to one in 20 million. She thinks one in 4 million seemed to be the most cited figure. |

Do they taste any different? Not being a fan of lobster, I don't have any personal interest in this, more of an academic interest, so to speak.

As we have an abundant supply of butter readily available, funding for yellow lobster breeding is scarce.
Now if we could only get the 300 lb. giant lobsters to stop escaping from the bio-labs and attacking island residents, they would be economical viable.
