Undertoad Sunday Nov 3 02:08 PM11/3/2002: Horses with bad legs

Oh man. Breeder's Cup racer Landseer threw his jockey, ran loose, broke his leg and had to be destroyed.

But why couldn't it be fixed? Here's a horse named Barnaby, whose leg was amputated after it developed a muscular disease. A prosthetics maker fitted him with an artificial leg and now he enjoys an easy life.

I defy anyone here to find and post Gary Larson's Horse Vet Student from Farside. It can't be done. Thats right, I'm calling you out Nic!

Gary Larson's "Horse Veterinarian" cartoons. My favorite is "Doris, like all vet students breezes through Chapter 9".
In the panel you see an open book with a list of equine diseases and their 'treatments': Every single entry in the treatment column is "shoot".
By the way, it looks like that jockey won't ride again. Why is it they never shoot the jockey?
