Jan 28, 2011: Piano on a sandbar

It happened suddenly: off the shores of Miami, on a sandbar in the middle of Biscayne Bay appeared... out of nowhere... a piano.

People speculated for days. What the hell...? Why would a piano just suddenly appear on a sandbar? Experts speculated that it was far too big for a small boat to carry, and speculation traveled far and wide.

But after a few days, mystery solved:

Quote:
The teenager had intended to make a “surreal video” of the piano perched atop the sandbar’s highest point, with Miami’s glittering skyline as a backdrop, to impress the college admissions officers at the Cooper Union in Manhattan, where he hopes to study art or music.

The video was never made, although Nick and his family took some pictures of him pretending to play it while the piano was on fire. Not long afterward, boaters discovered it, and for days people guessed about the back story of the “piano bar.”
They should let him in just based on that.

What's better than a piano on a sandbar?

Pianist in your salty cove?

I bet the piano was minding its own business on a treadmill, trying to become a little less "grand", when whoosh! It took off, and landed among the sharks and dolphins, just a whalepenis from Miami.

Why ain't that littering?

Why ain't that (piano) littering?
Because the sandbar is part of the Florida keys?

Just the opposite of UT's take, I figure not cleaning up after himself is a good reason to rethink admission.

All they need is a second one, so they can have a dueling piano bar.
