In the 1990s there were floods, a drought, and famine in North Korea. I’ve seen estimates from 240,00 to 3.5 million people
starved to death. Getting accurate information from there is dicey, and those who can get it usually have reason to massage
the numbers up or down.
From 1995 to 2011 the world shipped 12,390,000 tons of food to North Korea. It helped keep them alive but not a lot of variety
so they had to be creative.
Defectors have demonstrated some of that creativity.
By the way, April to June rainfall this year was the lowest in 16 years. Russia sent 5,200 tons of flour, South Korea said nope, and
you know Trump is anti-peasant in every country.

This is eerily reminiscent of last century when every Communist country was starving and those were the reasons always given.
None of those are the reasons the country is starving.
