July 15th, 2018: Mountain Guide

Next time you're wandering around the Swiss Alps trying to made sense of you tourist map, you might come across this thing.
It looks like a rusty sign post but the sign is in a foreign language, just no regard for we English speakers.
Crudely welded on pieces of pipe make look like an out of place piece of modern art.
Maybe it's one of those things that make sounds when the wind blows... but doesn't look anything like one of them.
Then looking inside the pipes for something to give you a clue there's nothing, all you can see is a mountain out the other end.

Then you see some of the pipes have tags with the names of mountains.
That's when the light goes on, it's a mountain guide. Cheaper than printing a bunch of maps the tourists can't read anyway.

Good thing they don't have man-eating spiders like Australia.

Maybe someone stole all the laser pointers out of them.

Neat.

Looks like a good way to catch a bee in the eye, though.
