7/6: Lizard as reincarnation

Chamlong Taengniem, a 51-year-old Thai mother, holds a monitor lizard which she believes is a reincarnation of her late son Charoen on June 28, 2001, at her home in Nonthaburi province, 30 km northeast of Bangkok. Charoen, seen in a portrait behind her, died at the age of 13 in a motorcycle accident 15 days ago.

Chamlong said the animal followed her home after her son's funeral and eats and drinks what her son enjoyed. The lizard has drawn a large crowd of curious onlookers seeking good luck, many of whom search for lucky numbers for government lotteries in unlikely ways.
