Undertoad Friday May 30 11:41 AM5/30/2003: Baby elephants

After the dead elephant photo from a few days ago, the usual haunts for news images turned up not one, not two, but THREE baby elephant photos. I felt this was somehow karmic and so I've saved them all for today in a happy Friday celebration.
The first one, above, is named Mongu and she's standing next to momma Tonga. They are in Vienna where Mongu is the second baby phant born in the last two years.

This un-named calf was born at Disney's Animal Kingdom; he's 296 pounds at birth. Good gawd.

And this one is also un-named, weighing in at 275 pounds at birth at the Toledo Zoo.
dave Friday May 30 11:48 AMThe last one is looking at something interesting (or scary).
Joe Friday May 30 01:37 PMthat something
is a high-voltage power line.
xoxoxoBruce Friday May 30 06:43 PM2 years in the womb then 6 or 7 feet to the ground. No wonder he looks stunned.

This part of your post was a complete waste of time. Your goose is already cooked.
Oh, and welcome to the Cellar, Leah.

You're right Bruce, but I had to try.
Oh yeah, Hi Leah. Welcome, we're a friendlly bunch here, well except for some o' them bastiches from Philly. But don't worry they only make up the bulk of the population here.
