1/15/2004: Monkeys attack embassy

Oh but it can't be! Oh but it is: in a man-bites-dog twist, a vicious band of monkeys has attacked and invaded the Indian embassy in Nepal.

They are described as "attacking staff, destroying stationery and damaging office equipment." The problem is made more difficult by a complex set of Hindu beliefs which make it roughly bad luck to harm the monkeys.

Insert your own joke about monkeys taking over government.

Oh look, it's bring your child to pillage the government office day. I missed that one on my calendar.

Tear gas , it won't harm them just run them off , and if that don't work I think Wolf , Slang and I could clean them out with shot guns !!!!

those aren't monkeys, they're baboons! big nasty dog monkeys, with red asses and pointy canine teeth. don;t they have any non hindu game wardens that coould cull the population?

yet another example of some quirky religious belief fouling up the natural balance of man and beast. any hindus on here? can;t kill cows, can't kill monkeys, what do they do for fun?!

xoxoxoBruce  Thursday Jan 15 07:42 PM

"Hey, lets crap in our hands and throw it at them. I dont care how evolved you get thats still damned funny." MST3000 Line.

Went to the Sherpa and the sherpa said no more monkeys jumping on my head!

Excellent Bruce!! And so deadpan.

Stonan  Friday Jan 16 10:04 AM

Supersoakers with soapy water. You're not harming them, you're just cleaning the unwashed heathens.

chrisinhouston  Friday Jan 23 05:13 PM

Found this at the BBC Images of the Week site and made me think these monkey's need to wonder "Why can't we just all get along?"

Leus  Tuesday Jan 27 08:30 AM
