2/12/2004: Man survives shark bite

full story

This comes via Fark. This shark attached itself to Aussie Luke Tresoglavic's leg while he was swimming. It started to shake; if it had been successful, it might have killed him.

Instead, he had the presence of mind to grab hold of the shark, with both hands, to prevent it from shaking. Unfortunately he had to swim all the way to shore like that. But he somehow managed to accomplish that... only to find that the shark had really clamped down and attached itself, and could not be loosed even with the help of others.

So he got into his car and drove - DROVE - to the clubhouse, where the lifesavers knew the trick: they hosed the shark down with fresh water, which caused it to release.

One animal's rage to eat met up with another's rage to live. I know that I personally would be completely shark food at this point, lacking the sense to grab the thing, never mind the will to swim and drive with the thing clamped to my thigh.

THAT'S NTO A SHARK! ITS A DOLPHIN!!!!! aghhhh!

no.....i mean......

it looks more like a giant tadpole.......do sharks start as tadpoles?

or is that just frogs?

glatt Thursday Feb 12 05:32 PM

I was just thinking it looks like a catfish without the whiskers.

I was snorkeling off Austrlia a few years ago and saw a shark a little bigger than this one. It was really cool.

Cochese Thursday Feb 12 06:39 PM

Not trying to be crude

Is that a giant black penis shark?

quzah Thursday Feb 12 06:59 PM

Here I show up expecting to see some guy with his legs bitten off by a great white, and what do I get? Some pansy fish the size of his fore arm. Man survives. Indeed. He's be pretty god damn pathetic to get killed by that!

Quzah.

Olikat Thursday Feb 12 08:22 PM

" hey dude, hold still for a bit so I can take a picture"

I'm guessing someone at the clubhouse had a camera handy....

oh, and be easy on the poor sharky. Size doesn't matter. There are many tiny but lethal critters out there ;-)

Hey... a few inches higher and he would have WISHED he were dead...

Did Luke eat the little SOB? Oh yah whale penis btw.

xoxoxoBruce Thursday Feb 12 09:56 PM

The little shark that couldn't.

Leah Thursday Feb 12 10:35 PM

Hey guys but don't forget that water can magnify things, so it would have looked a lot bigger then that under water. He probably thought it was a Great White, or in fact it probably felt like one. I would have absolutely shit myself if it clamped onto my leg while I was swimming.

Elspode Friday Feb 13 12:59 AM

Ambitious little bastard, ain't it? I mean, this would be like a human being sinking their teeth into a fucking elephant.

Nothing But Net Friday Feb 13 01:12 AM

Did you guys see "Survivor" tonight? The exact same thing happened to Richard Hatch. He bit the fucker back to make it let go!

One of the other contestants opined: "Would it be inappropriate to call a gay man a stud?"

Would it be inappropriate to call a straight man a punk-ass bitch?

chrisinhouston Saturday Mar 13 04:21 PM

Wow, lucky the guy got bitten by a little shark and not this one!

quzah Saturday Mar 13 09:00 PM

It could be worse...

Quzah.
