11/12/2004: Barbary apes

From WaPo day in photos comes this nice one of two male Barbary apes protecting a baby from falling snow. This is in Kintzheim, France where they have a "Monkey Mountain" park.

Animals are awesome cuz they do what they need to do without worrying about self-image.

That's just plain adorable

They have gay marriage in france?

busterb  Friday Nov 12 08:20 PM

Hell Bruce the whole bunch is weird. My French is none existent. What's the words for 3 at once? Trois a ?

capnhowdy  Saturday Nov 13 08:35 AM

Do I sense another TV sitcom in the making? "Two & A Half Apes". Heehee......
I'm interested as to where the Mother is. All I know about these animals is they are the last "wild" monkeys exsisting in Europe, And that's just what I was told.
I'd hate to be the poor SOB that had to take this little tyke away from these guys. It is my guess that they wouldn't be very cooperative. Good image! I just love Fridays in the cellar!
