Undertoad Sunday Dec 23 11:39 AM12/23: First black woman millionaire

This is Madam C.J. Walker (not to be confused with Jimmy "J.J." Walker). She was born to former slaves in Louisiana in 1867. Around the turn of the century she developed a line of hair care products for black women. She became the first black woman millionaire and was soon known to both blacks and whites, traveling the country, speaking at conventions and giving economic independence to black women everywhere. Today would be the 134th anniversary of her birth.

Not just wars. Homicide, suicide, traffic accidents, you name it -- if there's violent death involved, men have the edge. Woo hoo!
And of course the diseases of old age take us faster too, though women are catching up somewhat.
