1/24: Old monocycle

Remember the monocycle that was an image of the day a few months back? Built by a gent named Kerry McLean? It turns out not to be a new idea at all! This page shows a number of different concepts around the same idea. Turns out people have been building nutty vehicles since the first engine. Who'da thunk?

Great link, UT.

I really liked the mpg video of the unihog!

There was a movie some years back, Gizmo!, which featured this device (or one very like it) and dozens more from newsreels from the 30s, 40s, and 50s. The movie also featured some campy sounding songs co-written by actress PJ Soles.
