Radio blows.

I'll occasionally listen to sports talk radio for some laughs, tho. There's nothing like listening to Hank on the car phone explain why the Cubs are going all the way this year. :p

Here we have a fantastic station, 621 which has some of the best currant affirs analysis availiable here, listen ot that every wed morning, rest of the time my news is one of th three weeklies i read or two dailies.

Lately I've been avoiding the radio. A little Robert Earl Keen here, a little Deftones or Tool there, mix with some Ian Moore -- I'm good to go.
Our radio stations were something to brag about back when KNNC was still around. Now it's just KROX and the such that play everything any 13/14-year-old would want to hear. Don't get me wrong -- I think Blink kicks ass, but I only like their punk side.

I listen to local news radio first thing every weekday morning for school delays etc.. they also have abc radio news. hmm..occasional Imus, rarely rush when i want to hear the spin (his latest on bushies budget busting is unintentionally hilarious), and sometimes Kylie and Booms (sports) in the afternoon. During baseball season, I listen to a lot of the Yankee games while relaxing, working, reading, or driving. (off topic pitchers and catchers report next week!)

I listen to the local college radio station. Worked there for a couple years, so it's nice to hear how it's changed from when I was there. Other than that, though ... no other stations. Maybe the local militia AM station if I want a laugh.

Thanks, everybody, you've been helpful in checking my thinking. (I'm attempting to suggest that arguments that have been used to make public radio stations switch over from classical music to news programming are applicable to all genres of music, and this if we followed this to its logical conclusion we'd have a bunch of news/talk stations on the radio and no music.)

They might as well all be talk stations. As far as i'm concerned, the music stations have completly failed in their mission to produce quality music. :]
